Flying with Pets on Private Jets
Pets travel in the cabin with you on every BBAC flight — no crates, no cargo holds. What follows is how to plan a pet-friendly charter without the usual airline-shaped headaches.
Commercial airlines treat pets as cargo. Private aviation treats them as passengers. On BBAC flights your pet is in the cabin with you throughout the entire flight — small dogs at your feet, larger dogs on a cabin blanket, cats in soft carriers. We've flown dogs, cats, birds, and rabbits. The cabin setup is confirmed with crew before every departure.
“Your pet is with you the entire time. Not in cargo. Not in a separate compartment.”
No airline-style containment rules. Pets travel freely in the cabin — at your feet, on the seat next to you, wherever works. Soft carriers are fine if you prefer them. We brief the crew before every flight so the cabin is ready on boarding.
Rules vary significantly by destination. The UK requires a new Animal Health Certificate for every trip — EU pet passports have not been accepted since Brexit. Ireland and Malta both require tapeworm treatment for dogs, given no earlier than 5 days and no later than 24 hours before arrival. The UAE requires a government import permit obtained in advance plus a certified health certificate — and officially pets must travel as cargo, which makes private charter one of the few practical ways to fly there with an animal. Rules for non-EU destinations change without notice — tell us your route before booking and we'll confirm what applies.
There is no per-flight pet limit. We've operated flights with four dogs and a cat at once — cabin layout, crew briefing, and ground handling on both ends coordinated in advance. Capacity is governed by aircraft cabin size and passenger count, not by a fixed rule.
Documentation requirements vary by destination. For EU and Schengen travel, the standard set is:
- EU pet passport
- ISO microchip
- Rabies vaccination — given at least 21 days before travel
- Health certificate issued within 10 days of departure (required for some destinations)
Tell us your route and we'll send you the exact documentation checklist for your pet and country. Confirming what documents you need is on us — obtaining them is on you.
Tell us your route, travel dates, and what's flying with you. We'll confirm the documentation requirements and set up the cabin accordingly.
